A few words from Tina
Hello everyone! October flew by and the children are doing a wonderful job at school. We worked hard on following routines and were very successful! We also worked on turn taking. The group enjoyed the singing game “Pumpkin Patch” and did a great job finding their friends who were hiding.
We have been observing and taking notes and the result is…… November will be Teamwork month!
There is no better example of teamwork, outside of sports and E.C.E, than Firefighting. The children will suit up and work together to put out the fire. We have also introduced tools and steering wheels so that they can construct vehicles or buildings. Working together will be the key. There will be many opportunities for communication and for lots of role playing. It will be loud. You have been warned.
At circle time, we will look at some fire safety. I will teach them how to “Stop, drop and roll” and how to crawl low under smoke.
I have a fun song to go with Firefighting:
“Fire, Fire, Fire, Fire!”
Fire, fire, fire, fire hear the whistle blowing.
Fire, fire, fire, fire: everbody’s going.
Hoist the ladder, squirt the hose, with a ch,ch,ch,ch, out the fire goes!
Let the fun begin!
