Paulette Young, RECE Our first month of the 2012-2013 school year was a great success! September was busy and hectic at times as everyone settled in so I would like to thank everyone for their patience and support. A big “Thank you!”to our wonderful Board of Directors for all their help! Just a few friendly reminders from the Director: *To keep our children safe, kindly do not bring in hot beverages to the playground and classrooms. *For drop off and pick up, use the parking lot. Do not park in the driveway which is a fire lane. *Should your child be staying in After Care after 12:00 pm, kindly provide a nut-free snack for them. *Check your child’s folder in the Communication Boxlocated in the hallway on a daily basis. Take home all art work and papers. *reminder for the parents that signed up, the Fall Clean Up takes place on Saturday,October 20. Web based Child Care Management System New this year, RPNS is now using a web based system to manage all our administrative tasks. Our Assistant Director, Tina, and myself started training sessions in the summer months. This new system will make our tasks more efficient but we are still trying to get a handle on all this new information. Our thanks for your patience and understanding during this transition period! GivingThanks: Ottawa Food Bank Fall Food Drive Kindly bring in non-perishable food items to the nursery school before October 5. Pumpkin Parties We will be celebrating this fun time of year with parties on Tuesday, Oct.30 and Wednesday, Oct.31. Barefoot Book Fair too these days! Family members are welcome to attend a morning of games, fun sensory activities and yummy snacks! Wear a costume or hat. See the food sign up poster in the hallway. ELECT OBSERVATION LOGS Every child has an observation log book in a blue hanging file located on the classroom doors. Parents, feel free to add your comments to the teacher’s observations. EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR APPRECIATION DAY! Give our teachers on “big hug” on Wednesday, Oct.24 to let them know how much they are appreciated! Teachers will be enjoying a lunch here at the school (with thanks to our Board or Directors). FALL FUNDRAISERS AT RPNS *DateNight Current and alumni RPNS families & friends are encouraged to have a ‘date night’ on Friday, Oct.12 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Children will enjoy a supervised dinner and evening of fun activities while their parents go out on a real date (when was the last time you had that opportunity?!). Cost is $30 per child ($15 per sibling) with all proceeds going towards our Building Fund.
