      Junior Preschool and Toddler Newsletter

      January 2015

Welcome everyone to the New Year, 2015! We have new friends starting in both groups, so please look for new pictures and names on our cubbies. We will still go outside each day if the weather is suitable, so please ensure that your child has all the appropriate clothing necessary for outdoor play in the winter.

We are starting off with Dinosaurs, large and small. Those that eat meat and those that eat plants. We are also celebrating winter with pairs of mittens that can go into the washing machine (in the Everyday Living area) and be hung with clothespins on our clothes line. Ice with dinosaurs and rocks will be available in the sensory bin for those who want to help it melt using eye droppers and spoons. Friends will be able to follow the Dino feet that will take you through the tunnels into the Everyday Living area. For those who wish to "row", the boat will be available in the Gross Motor area.

Here is a song to get everyone into the Dinosaur mood.

                        Do you know the Dinosaurs
(tune: Do you know the Muffin Man)
Oh, do you know the stegosaurus?
                        The stegosaurus, the stegosaurus?
Oh, do you know the stegosaurus?
He had plates upon his back.

                        Add...Verses
Apatosaurus...he has a very long neck.
                        Tyrannosaurus rex...he was very fierce.
Triceratops.... he has three big horns.
